Filling a void left by the cancelation of Open Studios: Pawtucket, the Exchange Street Open Studios features many fine artists and designers in and around the Pawtucket Armory. Since most of these studios are housed in refurbished factory buildings, the idea behind this identity was to convey artistic sensibility in an industrial setting. The knockout “X”  and slightly askew frame not only mimics paint strokes but also calls back to stenciled words one might find on the brick walls of these factories. Along with prominent signage, this identity set was also used on XOS’s website and t-shirts for volunteers.
